Obituary of William J. McLaughlin

On May 8, William (Bill) J McLaughlin, loving husband of Anne E McLaughlin and devoted father of Grace M Rainey, Dr. Margaret M McLaughlin, Anne M Welch, Irene M Clark and Patricia M Kavanagh (deceased July 27, 2012) passed on at the age of 93.
Bill was the youngest of 4 brothers (Donald, James, and Robert all deceased) and was born on March 18, 1926, in the Bronx, NY to James and Grace McLaughlin. Bill's father James was the son of Hell's Kitchen residents Michael McLaughlin and Rebecca Gardner McLaughlin. Bill received his MBA from New York University and his BS under the WWII GI Bill from Fordham University.
Bill married Anne E Beaudette on June 2, 1956. Bill was a corporate trust banker for the predecessor bank to Citibank then called First National City Bank of New York as well as National Westminster and Manufacturers Hanover.
Bill was passionate about Catholicism and was known for his devotion to family as well as his voracious reading. Bill loved to pass on his knowledge to his children, grandchildren, great-grandson and his many nieces and nephews. Bill was also an avid genealogist long before ancestry.com.
Bill is also survived by his 5 adoring grandchildren Joanna E Osolnik, Matthew Eisman, Faith A Welch, Sean P Welch, Christian E Welch, and great-grandson Cole J Osolnik.
A wake will be held on May 13 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Andrett Funeral Home, 199 Bleecker St (6th Ave). A funeral Mass will be held on May 14 at 10:30 am at Church of the Epiphany, 22nd St / 2nd Ave. Burial will be at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY.
