I met John Ed in the late 1980s in the East Village and will always remember him with fondness and a smile. What a lovely, creative person! He wrote a column in the East Villager, a community newspaper that I worked on, called "Dug-Out Dope." It featured clever and unusual tidbits. Each week I would see John-Ed at art openings around town. His paintings were beautiful--meticulous and elegant. I am so happy that I saw John-Ed last year at a Bullet Space opening, and I will miss him.

I knew your father and mother, Marie.many years ago when we were first married and met at a vacation place in the Poconos. Your Mom and I stayed friends for many years and I would visit you all in Brooklyn.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope your Mother is doing well, give her my love.
