Obituary of Rosenie Montalvo
August 22, 2020
Rosenie Macaldo Montalvo was lovingly known to most as "ROSE". She was born on September 15, 1946 in Bacolod City, Philippines. Rose immigrated to the United States in 1984. She was the eldest of 7 children, born to Jesusa and Anacleto Macaldo Sr.
She is survived by sisters-Madeleine, Ingrid, Agnes, Yvonne, and brother- Edwin, and several nieces and nephews.
Rose was a Preparatory School Teacher in La Consolacion College, Philippines for 18 years. She also taught in Loyola School, Montessori School and St. Aloysius School in New York City.
Among her hobbies were playing the piano, traveling, & going on pilgrimages (the last one was at Our Lady of Fatima in February 2019). She participated in the many events and gatherings at the Epiphany Church and loved the Parish! She was among the few who still was fond of sending hand written cards and letters to friends. She loves watching broadway shows. Her joy was bringing the Holy Eucharist to 107 year old Cecilia Cerda weekly! Now, both Rose & Cecilia are reunited together in our Heavenly Home!
Rose was an active member of the Legion of Mary at Epiphany Church (Our Lady of the Cenacle Praesidium) in New York City.

It is with a sad heart with you leaving this world. But just like a message is wrote for my mama when she left us, "you will be in a much better place". Kiss her foe me when you see each other. With much love Isabel
