Obituary of Alfa de Alessandrini di Neuenstein
December 11, 2020
Alfa Cabrera Morales de Alessandrini di Neuenstein passed on December 11, 2020. She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on April 19, 1928 to Dorotteo and Giasul Morales. She was the youngest of eight children. In 1950, she married Luigi de Alessandrini di Neuenstein and traveled the globe - settling in Portofino, Italy. In 1956, Alfa and Luigi moved to New York and then to Virginia where they raised their two sons, Paolo and Enrico. In 1969, they returned to Genova, Italy for several years before settling back in Virginia Beach, VA. In 1987, Alfa and Luigi moved to New York City and spent many pleasant years in their beach house in Montauk, NY. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage as inseparable companions enjoying circling the globe, walks on the Long Island beaches and entertaining family and friends. She survived her husband for 19 years and filled her time by dedicating herself to being present when asked in her grandchildren's daily life. Alfa was an avid chef and with Luigi they enjoyed tending to merriment and libation for their frequent guests. Alfa was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In the face of difficulty, she would always say "Master yourself" and in the face of controversy she taught us "If you are not afraid to stand alone, you'll never be alone." She is survived by her sons, Paolo de Alessandrini and Enrico de Alessandrini (and his wife Ellen) as well as her grandchildren Giulio, Alexa and Elle and niece and nephew Nubel and Walter Costa.
