Robert Michael Lucas, known as 'Michael', age 76, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 6:40 am. He was born on December 21, 1944, in New York City. Michael had a PhD in political science and was the owner and director of the Phyllis Lucas Gallery and Old Print Center in NYC. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Newman.

I just heard from Kim of Michael's passing. Please accept my condolences. My thoughts are with you at this terrible time. I hope you are somewhat consoled by knowing you did everything possible for him and although your time together was short, it was a true marriage of minds. Kim told me that Cossette flew out to be with you and I hope that added some measure of comfort.
Again, my thoughts are with you.

Dear Rachel,
It was with great dismay and now great sadness that I learned of Michael's passing from the Internet.
In this way, my sincere condolences to you - even if very belatedly.
I will be in New York next week and was hoping to meet Michael. I had tried so many times to reach him by mail and on the phone. Now I know why I was never successful in doing so. Now, unfortunately, I am too late....
Rachel, in retrospect I wish you a lot of strength.
Unfortunately, I have no contact information from you at all. Is there any possibility to meet you briefly so that I can condole you personally and afterwards I can pay my last respects to him at Michael's grave?
