Obituary of Jose DeJesus

Jose DeJesus passed away at the age of 87 years old on Friday, February 25th, 2022 in Englewood, New Jersey. He was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, son & brother. His legacy of caring for his family will never be forgotten. Jose grew up in Rio Grande, PR. He traveled to NYC as a young man to pursue a better life and to provide for his mother and family in Puerto Rico. Jose worked for Michelman Ironworks corporation in Brooklyn, NY for many years. He then re-invented himself and began working for Gordon International as an upholsterer which he took pride in his workmanship before retiring.



He is survived by his children, Marlene Mendez & Oscar De Jesus, son-in-law John Mendez, grandchildren, Justin DeJesus, Ashley Mendez, Jennifer Mendez & Kailin Jones. He was especially grateful to witness his grandchildren graduate from college. Jose was a very simple man, he was gentle and kind and took pride and joy for his family, and loved his hats, colognes, and Flan. Jose will never be forgotten especially to see his smiling face when he can get something FREE!
