Obituary of Julie Ann Zoppo

Julie A. Zoppo, age 54, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born on April 30, 1965 in Norwood, MA to Thomas B. and Anna M. (Orlando) Zoppo and was the youngest of four children. She was a 1987 graduate of Mt. Holyoke College. After completing her studies, she enjoyed a rich and distinguished career in advertising. Until taking ill, she was a marketing executive for SAP. Julie truly loved life. She loved her family and friends. She loved her Italian heritage. She loved to travel and especially relished her trips to Spain. She loved New York City and everything it offered. Joyful in spirit and temperament, Julie possessed the unique ability to reach people in a profound and encouraging way. She will be forever admired for her courage and determination in the face of significant adversity.
Julie is survived by her father Thomas and stepmother Joan; brother Br. Thomas Zoppo, FSC; brother Richard and his wife Jane; sister Nancy Stanton and her husband Michael; nephews Nicholas, Kevin, Anthony, and Michael; nieces Christine and Andrea as well as extended family and many, many beloved friends, including Rebecca Asbury and Brett Lowell who, along with others, made her final months comfortable. She was predeceased by her mother Anna. Family, friends, and others whose lives Julie touched are invited to the Greenwich Village Funeral Home, 199 Bleecker St., New York, NY on Saturday, June 1 from 11 AM to 12:15 PM to offer condolences, reminisce, grieve, and provide support. A memorial to Julie will be offered from 12:15 PM to 1 PM. A Powa ceremony for recently deceased will be held on Sunday, June 2 at 1:30 PM at the Kadampa Meditation Center, 127 W. 24th Street, New York, NY. Donations in Julie's memory can be made to Mt. Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA. "Grateful for this precious human life." Julie will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
