Obituary of Alessandro Carozza

March 25, 2026

ALESSANDRO (ALEX) CAROZZA

passed away in New York on March 25, 2026.

Born in 1927 in Montenerodomo, in the mountainous heart of Abruzzo (Italy), he lived in Argentina for 30 years before settling in New York in 1960.

A musician and accordionist, it was in the musical instrument business where he truly left his mark; his iconic store, Alex Musical Instruments, became a landmark on 48th Street, the legendary « Manhattan Music Row », now gone.

Generous and always cheerful, a lover of life, friendship, good food, and good business, his devotion centered on his beloved wife Susy, with whom he shared more than 60 years of romance and happiness.

Today we bid him farewell just as he lived: with a smile and our souls filled with music and love.

Thank you for cherishing his memory and legacy alongside us.
