My heart goes out to Will and Linda, Dick and families for your huge loss. The Barthen kids (8 of us!) grew up with our Spicer cousins. Ohio based Buckeye Donkey Ball Co., was our common bond. Frank and Kitty (my parents), Aunt Lorraine Spicer, nee Barthen, and Uncle John "Spicer" Spicer, Jack, Linda and Rick often shared family picnics together over our childhood years, business visits to the farm and to the Spicer home and business office in Columbus, Ohio. It was exciting when cousin Dick (as we knew Ric) moved to NYC as he pursued his creative talents in advertising and acting. I will always remember a visit with my parents and siblings to his home in NYC near Greenich Village and our opportuntiy to explore parts of the city. Ric often visited the farm when he came home, including an adventure to a stone quarry near Cedarburg where he snorkeled and tried out dad's scuba diving equipment. I enjoyed hearing about his adventures, and love for horses! It was a joy to visit in Chippewa Falls area of Wisconsin, in later years with all the Barthen uncles and aunts, and cousins. Rest in peace, dear cousin. You will always be with us!
