Born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 17, 1995, Melissa was reborn Christian deeply loved by God, her family, and friends. She graduated from The New School: Parsons School of Design and Stevens Institute of Technology. Melissa was a bibliophile, a big tea lover and, a music fan.
Melissa is survived by her father Hing Tang, mother Chin Foon Tang (Linda), brother Chuen Tang (Timmy), and sister Melody Tang.
In her final days, Melissa had deep conversations with God and reflections on what lied ahead. Her endless curiosity and adventurous spirit pushed her to a full life. Melissa will be remembered as a positive, social, and radiant soul.

Melissa was a vibrant human being. I’ll always remember the girl’s night we had (also the last we would see her in person)—conversing over our spread of self catered food about our plans for the future and sharing our thoughts and opinions about random topics. I learned new things about Melissa that night—she had a bachelors in music, was thinking about applying for a graduate program, and what she was like as a person years before. She was an inspirational woman with so many aspirations. Although Melissa is now no longer with us, we will always remember her, her love of life, and the inspirational qualities I greatly admired. I will always hold her close to my heart and take my memories of her and her passion for life with me as I live.

Melissa, thank you for being my friend. Thank you for standing by me and supporting me. Thank you for all of the talks, hugs, and memories we have together. Thank you for being apart of my life. I love you so much and I miss you so much.
