Obituary of Joel E. Cayabyab

Joel passed away on January 20, 2022 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Fe Cayabyab (Manaloto), and children, Jasmine and Joshua; sister, Divina Pulanco (Cayabyab), brother-in-law, Joe Pulanco, nephews, Ezequiel and Dominick Pulanco. And Julius, Raymond, Susan, Joey, and Jerico Ofeciar. Also, beloved aunt, Victoria Santos.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, Florencio and Felisa Cayabyab (Estrada), and sister Ruby Ofeciar (Cayabyab).

Joel was born on September 28, 1953. He was a graduate of San Jacinto High School in Pangasinan, Philippines, class of 1970. He then went on to graduate from University of the East Philippines, class of 1976, earning a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering.

He worked at Synertek and Toshiba in California. He then went on to work at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, in the Biomedical Engineering department.

Joel loves gardening, cooking and barbecuing, reading and studying the Holy Bible.

He was a very good and loving husband and father, brother, uncle, cousin, beloved coworker, and friend to many people.
