Obituary of Conor Griffin
December 2, 2024
May 19, 1985 – December 2, 2024
Conor Francis Griffin, husband of Sarah Fram, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on December 2, 2024, after fiercely battling cancer for three years. At 39 years of age, he was much too young.
Conor was truly a unique individual; he was generous, kind and incredibly funny. He loved spending time with friends and family. Conor's magnetic and mischievous personality drew people together. He had an amazing gift of turning friends into family - a friend of Conor became a friend of the entire Griffin clan (and it’s a big clan!)
Thirteen years ago, Conor found his perfect match in his wife Sarah. After over a decade of laughs and adventures together, they married in September of 2023. They were devoted to each other as well as best friends.
Conor and Sarah shared many passions including craft beer, travel, the Boston Celtics, great restaurants, cocktails (specifically negronis), comedy and Manhattan or at least the part that is below 14th Street. Additionally Conor was a diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan which Sarah, a New Yorker since birth, learned to accept (it didn’t hurt that the NY teams weren’t very good during the majority of their relationship).
Conor and Sarah loved to travel and had adventures to Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Greece and Denmark. Copenhagen was Conor’s favorite city.
Conor grew up in Lancaster, MA and moved to New York City after receiving his Electrical Engineering degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a Senior Software Engineer at Coinbase. While at Coinbase, Conor was a highly valued member of his team and, despite facing many medical challenges, always maintained a positive energy, and spirit.
Conor was resolute in following his own path and inspiring others to do the same.
In his early days in NYC, inspired by his love of Seinfeld, he tried his hand at stand-up comedy. He was fearless and would tour the city’s open mic nights. Comedy never became his career, but you never went more than a few minutes in Conor’s presence before you were laughing - he was always the funniest guy in the room and the best storyteller.
Conor was the eldest cousin in the very large Griffin family and was a mentor and friend to all of them. It was rare to see Conor without another member of the Griffin family. His love for his family was unmatched.
In addition to his wife, Sarah Fram, Conor is survived by his grieving parents, Sean and Lizbeth Griffin, sister Emily Griffin Brook, brother-in-law Christopher Brook, nephew Griffin Brook, brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Stefania Fram, mother-in-law Francine Fram and father-in-law Jonathan Fram.
Additionally, Conor leaves behind his grandparents Joesph and Marilyn Rich, aunt and uncle Maureen Griffin and Michael Putnam, cousins Alexander, Nathaniel and Andrea. His uncle Kevin Griffin and cousins Kyle and Ryan, his uncle and aunt James and Carolyn Griffin, cousins Seamus, Michele, Sean, Carolina, Bridget, Kayleigh and Brianna. Aunt Kathleen Griffin Mcintyre, his deceased uncle Jeff Mcintyre, cousins Griffin, Haley, McCall, Nick, Keira, Christopher, Tucker and Sarah. His aunt and uncle Karen Griffin and Ben Ghamami, cousins Taylor and Andrew. Uncle and aunt Liam and Amy Griffin, cousins Emma, Addison and Liam. Aunt and uncle Catherine and Michael Hyatt, cousins Carl, Katelyn and Abby. Uncle and aunt David and Mary Rich and cousin Kevin.
Conor is predeceased by his grandparents James and Kathleen Griffin and his uncle Michael Griffin.
The Greenwich Village Funeral Home will be providing cremation.
Conor will be loved and missed by his family and friends forever.
