I came across a letter that Dr. Foster had written to me on August 2, 1986 expressing her desire for me to be in the Honors Art program she was heading up. She also wanted me to design Jewelry along side her. What I never said to her was on July 29, 1986 my mother died of colon cancer after a two year battle and my life was changed in an instant. With no support to continue my education I dropped out to get a job, however I regret that I never said that to Dr. Foster, an amazing teacher and mentor that really saw my potential. I'm sorry I never said it to her personally but I hope that someone here will see that my story today is I'm a designer and thriving as an artist but more importantly I'm stepping into creating jewelry. I found her letter a few months ago and weep over it but also took the leap of faith to quit the day job and go for this life full time. Thank you so much Dr. Foster, you have influenced me above and beyond!
