Obituary of Carmen Mercedes Serrano

Carmen Mercedes Serrano, 76 years old, of New York City passed away on December 30, 2023, at Isabella Geriatric Center.  She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 47 years Jose Serrano, her three children, Charlene, Jocelyn and Dennis and her three grandchildren Manuel, Elias and Talithea. Carmen was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, on September 22, 1947, one of nine children. She established her life and family in New York City after marrying Jose in 1976.

Carmen was a devout wife, mother and grandmother. Her commitment to her faith and willingness to help others remained a symbol of her selfless character. Carmen was dedicated to her religion supporting others in her community of faith in times of need. Carmen lived for her family and provided an ever supportive, present and loving foundation that will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 10:30AM-12:30PM.
