1957 - 2019

Jean-Francois Hibbert, 62, passed away in Grimaud, France, on Sunday, September 1st, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 2nd, 1957 to Daniel and Ghislaine Hibbert.


JF, as he was affectionately known, received his undergraduate degree from Brown University & his Medical Degree from U-Mass. He spent a fruitful career serving as an Emergency Medicine physician, which was an extension of his generous personality and his keen sense to give to his family and others.


JF enjoyed tennis, skiing, cycling, politics and Formula 1. Everyone who met or knew him will remember his infectious sense of humor and his energetic presence that drew everyone towards him. He was a role model to many people throughout his life and was a great father who was dedicated to his family. He will remain in our hearts always and we will carry the example he set for the rest of our lives.

He is survived by his wife, Jocelyne Hibbert, of New York; his daughter Alexa and her husband Sean Gleason, of New York; and his daughter, Natalya Hibbert, also of New York. He is also survived by his mother, Ghislaine Borno of Worcester, Massachusetts; his brother, Michel Hibbert of Los Angeles, California; his sister Genevieve Keene and her husband Larry Keene of Andover, Massachusetts; his sister Beatrice Cassis of Boston, Massachusetts; his sister Florence Mackay of London, England, his sister France Borno of London, England; his brother Pascal Borno of Los Angeles, California; and his brother Raymond Borno of Brooklyn, New York.
A celebration of JF's life will be held on Monday, September 9th, 2019 at the Greenwich Village Funeral Home (199 Bleecker Street, NY, NY), with calling hours from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, followed by a religious service at 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM. The burial will be held at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY at 1:00 PM.
